How to use the simulator

Enter the initial deposit (what you already have to invest), the monthly contribution (how much you plan to add each month), the interest rate and the term. The rate can be per month or per year, and the term in years or months. The result shows the total accumulated, how much was invested and how much came from interest, month by month.

Monthly or annual rate

In compound interest, the annual rate is not divided by 12. The equivalent monthly rate is (1 + annual rate)^(1/12) − 1: 12% per year corresponds to 0.9489% per month. The simulator does this conversion automatically when you choose "per year".

What the simulation does not consider

Values are gross and nominal: they do not include income tax, brokerage fees or inflation, which reduce the real gain. Future returns are also not guaranteed. Use the result as a reference for planning, not as a promise of return.
